Ignacio Serricchio is the new Squintern

Bones Executive Producer, Stephen Nathan, told TVLine Ignazio Serricchio will have a recurring role as the new squintern at the Jeffersonian. Being a prominent forensic anthropologist from Cuba, he feels he is Brennan’s equal, but she doesn’t feel the same. He’ll have to prove himself to gain her respect.

Serricchio is best known for his daytime soap opera roles including Diego Alcazar on General Hospital and as Alejandro “Alex” Chavez on The Young and the Restless. He also held a recurring role as Gabriel Lawrence on Ghost Whisperer and appeared on another Hart Hanson project, The Finder.

Emily Deschanel presents at the 2014 People’s Choice Awards

The 2014 People’s Choice Awards were held at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, CA on January 8, 2014 hosted by Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs from 2 Broke Girls.

Emily Deschanel arrived on the red carpet wearing an art deco pattern black and white Max Azria dress accented by Miss Delicious shoes, House of Lavande earrings, Swarovski ring, and carrying an Edie Parker clutch. This was her first time attending the People’s Choice Awards.

Red carpet host Timm Gunn challenged her to correctly demonstrate where the cut-out paper bones on his tray would appear on his body. She passed with flying colors. Looks like she’s picked up a trick or two from her nine years starring as a forensic anthropologist on Bones.

Emily Deschanel and Michael Weatherly (NCIS), “who fight crime, drink wine and look so fine,” presented the award for “Favorite Actress in a New TV Series” to Sarah Michelle Gellar for her role on The Crazy Ones.

This isn’t the first time Bones and Sarah Michelle Gellar have crossed paths. David Boreanaz played Angel on Buffy the Vampire Slayer long before putting on his FBI uniform. In 2013, Sarah’s husband, Freddie Prinze Jr., appeared as CIA Agent Danny Beck on the Bones episode “The Secrets in the Proposal”.

Bones was nominated for “Favorite Crime Drama” but lost to Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic in Castle.

Michaela Conlin on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (January 8, 2014)

Michaela Conlin (Angela on Bones) appeared on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson on January 8, 2014 along with guest Mark Wahlberg.

Michaela reveals she’s a sucker for a burger and a little eye contact. Even though she’s from Allentown, PA, she prefers Hall & Oats to the music of Billy Joel. She spent the Christmas break visiting her nephews in Florida. She also enjoyed a solo trip to Iceland where she saw volcanoes, a lot of sheep, and very attractive people.

Hart Hanson provided some helpful tips for her visit to the show like not starring directly into the mug on Craig’s desk because it’s bewitching.
