ZZ Top To Receive Living Legend Award

Classic Rock magazine’s Roll of Honour awards ceremony will honor rock legends ZZ Top with a Living Legends award. “ZZ Top band members are excitedly gearing up to attend the 2012 Classic Rock Awards,” guitarist Bily Gibbons said. “A celebration held in a timely manner following the long awaited release of the new ZZ disc, La Futura. Good times for sure…! We’ve stuck it out long enough to where this once unpredictable style, which has no basis other than oddness, brought us back into vogue.” Previous winners of the Living Legend award include Iggy Pop, Jimmy Page, Alice Cooper, Lemmy, Jeff Beck and Ozzy Osbourne. This year's ceremony will be held on November 13 at London's Roundhouse. ZZ Top's latest album, La Futura, will be released on Sept. Bones Nabs Emmy Nomination

BONES: Brennan (Emily Deschanel, R) and Booth (David Boreanaz, L)Nominations for the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards were announced today by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences from the Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre in the NoHo Arts District, California. The Bones episode "The Twist In The Twister" is nominated in the category Outstanding Special Visual Effects In A Supporting Role. The other nominated in that category include Boardwalk Empire "Georgia Peaches," The Borgias "The Choice," Breaking Bad "Face Off," Hemingway & Gellhorn, and Touch "Pilot." Red Carpet arrivals and ceremonies for the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards will air live from the NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE on Sunday, September 23rd at 7pm EDT on the ABC Network. This year’s telecast will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. Bones was first eligible for nomination in 2006 and has since received 2 nominations but has yet to garner a win. Source: Emmys

Bones stars David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel have each been nominated for a People's Choice Award. Bones, the series, gets a nomination and so does Zooey Deschanel's New Girl. Cast your vote! The awards will be given January 11, 2012. David Boreanaz is up against Hugh Laurie, Ian Somerhalder, Nathan Fillion and Patrick Dempsey for Favorite TV Drama Actor. Emily Deschanel is nominated for Favorite TV Drama Actress along with Blake Lively, Ellen Pompeo, Eva Longoria and Nina Dobrev. Favorite TV Crime Drama? Bones, Castle, Criminal Minds, CSI, NCIS Favorite New TV Comedy? 2 Broke Girls, Allen Gregory, Last Man Standing, Man Up!, New Girl, Suburgatory, Up All Night, Whitney There is solid competition every year. Do think Bones and its performers have what it takes to fend off the competition? I see Castle coming on strong.
