Bones Nabs Emmy Nomination

BONES:  Brennan (Emily Deschanel, R) and Booth (David Boreanaz, L)Nominations for the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards were announced today by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences from the Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre in the NoHo Arts District, California.

The Bones episode “The Twist In The Twister” is nominated in the category Outstanding Special Visual Effects In A Supporting Role. The other nominated in that category include Boardwalk Empire “Georgia Peaches,” The Borgias “The Choice,” Breaking Bad “Face Off,” Hemingway & Gellhorn, and Touch “Pilot.”

Red Carpet arrivals and ceremonies for the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards will air live from the NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE on Sunday, September 23rd at 7pm EDT on the ABC Network. This year’s telecast will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.

Bones was first eligible for nomination in 2006 and has since received 2 nominations but has yet to garner a win.

John Francis Daily to Script ‘Secret Histories’

Jonathan M Goldstein and John Francis Daley at the Horrible Bosses premiereJohn Francis Daily (Bones‘ Dr. Lance Sweets) and Johnathan Goldstein have been chosen to do a script rewrite for Secret Histories. The writing duo are the pens behind Horrible Bosses. They are currently working on a reboot of Vacation.

Secret Histories centers on a geeky Dungeons & Dragons-type fan who discovers he may be a half-faerie when a secret order of mythical beings seeks out his help, thrusting him on an international adventure to save the world.

Bones Comic Con 2012 Panel Discussion

On Friday July 13, 2012, Bones‘ executive director Stephen Nathan took the stage along with stars Emily Deschanel (Dr. Temperance Brennan) and David Boreanaz (Special Agent Seely Booth) to the delight of Bones fans and discussed the shows direction in upcoming season 8.

The show would love to shoot in other locations around the world like the did with the two-part London episodes. Memories from the episode “The Suit on the Set” where Booth and Bones are portrayed in the movies. Pelant will play a big role in season 8 as he continues to stay one step ahead. Had Emily or David read Kathy Reichs’ books before making the show?

A UK fans asks about their favorite part of shooting a episode in London. There’s no intention to jump forward in time to age the Bones babies. What is the nature of Max’s character? Is there a specific plan for the 150th episode yet? David and Emily mock special agent characters with foreign accents.

David thinks Buffy was wrapped up just as Joss wanted but he would be open to appearing in a movie if that should happen. Season 8 will have 4 unique episodes. One episode is from the perspective of the skull.

Bones Comic Con 2012 Season 8 Reel and Press Room Interview

Emily DeschanelFans gathered at the San Diego Comic Con for this year’s Bones panel with guests Emily Deschanel, David Boreanaz and Stephen Nathan. Discussion included a little bit of season finale recap and a whole lot of talk about what could be in season 8. The extended season 8 will include 26 episodes. Cam will find a new love interest and there will be an undercover episode involving ballroom dancing.
